Yumi's Bio  & Otojikan

Educated in an international environment as a mid-teen daughter of an expat family in Bangkok, Yumi began her career as a relocation consultant, helping foreign business people and their families settle in Tokyo in 1986.

Her interest in supporting the international community later got her into a public sector to work as a coordinator for international training participants through the government program, JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency).  Her experiences also include sales and marketing, and English training for corporations which she still does as an instructor.

After engaging in the field of international business for more than 25 years, she began to seek more balance into her life. As she pursued her passion for music and sound, she became a Certified Singing Ring Therapist in 2017.

Now Yumi's passion is to introduce and share Singing Ring sound with people around the world. She holds sound bath events and offers Singing Ring therapy sessions at a private salon.

Yumi's sound work is based in Tokyo and conducted under the name of Otojikan.  Oto and jikan literally mean sound and time in Japanese respectively. She enjoys creating harmonic sound with Singing Ring and shares mindful time with her clients and participants.
